Primitive Reflex Certification
June 8-9, 2024 - GTA

Sat: 9-5:30pm
Sun: 8-2:00 pm

Have you wondered about the connection between Retained Primitive Reflexes and Behaviour?
Wanted to know how to properly assess pediatrics for all primitive reflexes for all ages and abilities?
Want to understand how to modify and create home exercises and assessments to help integrate retained reflexes?

We have created this hands-on, interactive 2 day Primitive Reflex Certification Course open to all regulated healthcare professionals.  Often infants are assessed to determine if they have the primitive reflexes present that we would expect but rarely does anyone assess to determine if they have integrated.  This can have a massive impact on their development, patterning, behaviour, coordination and can create compensation patterns impacting them into adulthood.

It is time we elevate the level of care we are providing for our Pediatric practice members and assessing their primitive reflexes to determine what is integrated and what may be retained is essential for a complete neurological examination and to provide the highest level of care.

This course will allow you to understand:
*Clinical Presentation
*Vagus Nerve
*Connection between the Tongue, Oral Function and RPR
*Elementary Motor Neuron Patterns
*Primitive Reflex Assessment for all ages (0+), tone and abilities
*Primitive Reflex Integration Exercises for infancy and up and for all abilities
*Causes of Re-Appearance of Primitive Reflexes and how to help those practice members (Concussion, MVA, Traumas, etc)
*Case Studies

What course is right for me?

All courses are unique and created to help build your understanding to better serve your pediatric practice members!

If you want to expand your level of service, your understanding and find ways to help by having more play and fun with infants and kiddos there is a course or courses for you!

I am a student, new grad or desire more pediatric experience and knowledge?

All courses are created to include foundational education so practitioners with any level of experience and knowledge can follow along and learn.

If you are new to working with pediatrics or feel you want to understand more about development and the WHY things could be happening, the 2 day Pediatric Development Certification is a great place to start.  This course is open to all regulated healthcare professional and has had great feedback from IBCLC, dentists, chiropractors, manual practitioners, osteopaths, RMTs and PTs.

If you are seeking specifics for examination, clinical applications and becoming certified in the PIPS Technique then the Advanced Pediatric Bootcamp is the course for you!

If you are seeking knowledge on all things Primitive Reflex including tons of hands on work for how to assess and exercises to help integrate these retained primitive reflexes for all ages (starting in infancy) and abilities then register for the Primitive Reflex Certification course.

I am looking for a more clinical course including examination and intraoral assessments?

If you are wanting a more  clinically relevant course to help walk you through a thorough and complete neurological examination, tonal examination, intraoral assessment then the Advanced Pediatric Bootcamp would be the course you are looking for.

I want to understand more about tongue ties and how to assess?

You will want to learn and become certified in the PIPS (Pediatric Intraoral Palate Specific) Assessment and Technique.  This technique was created in 2016 when Dr. Jenna recognized the need for a comprehensive manner to assess oral tension, dural tension, palate, tongue function, lip tie, pediatric TMD and sphenoid fault.  This connects truly assessing and recognizing oral motor dysfunction, tension, compensation patterns and (when within scope) correction techniques.

This unique technique is a game changer when working to assess and help direct your littlest patients/clients and their families on what is needed for their optimal function and it can even be modified to help assess teens and adults!

I want to understand more about Pediatric Development and how to assess and exercises for our parents at home?

The Pediatric Development Certification course was created for all regulated healthcare providers to increase the understanding of pediatric development, milestones and the memory files that allow our nervous systems to function efficiently and effectively and develop from the primitive reflexes to our postural and higher cognitive responses including posture!

Understanding development is integral for all professionals working with pediatrics.  The sooner we can recognize shifts from our optimal development patterns, the faster we can address them, limit or eliminate establishing compensation patterns and refer for co-management when needed.  It is never too early to start when we are working with and understand the nervous system and optimal development!

Primitive reflexes are often assess at birth to ensure they are present but very rarely they are assessed to confirm they have integrated properly and in the right sequence to allow for optimal development including our postural reflexes and behaviour.

There are many courses out there now discussing retained primitive reflexes but most focus on ages where a child or adult can follow some instruction or has some physical ability to perform exercises alone.

Dr. Jenna Davis recognized that if we could actually begin assessing

This new course has been created for all regulated healthcare providers working with pediatrics, concussion patients or individuals who have experienced traumas (emotional, physical, chemical).  This hands on course is unique as it will cover the neurology, importance of primitive reflexes for the sensory patterns needed for development AND will demonstrate assessments and exercises beginning from infancy (even before they can sit) as well as modifications for all abilities (physical, emotional, developmental).

When we learn a new or different technique it often takes some time to fully integrate it into clinical practice.  As we become more proficient we understand more and this often raises more questions.

This is why we have created our Refresher series of courses.  If you feel you don't want to review the examination, developmental piece and the more in-dept understanding of Pediatric TMJD and Tongue Tie, we have the PIPS Technique refresher.  This 1 day course includes a complete review including the latest modifications of the PIPS Technique as well as some advance intraoral education to expand your knowledge and information.

I want to understand more about these Retained Primitive Reflexes and how to help my patients/clients more in their journey?

I have taken the Advanced Pediatric Bootcamp and feel like I want a refresher for the PIPS Technique and learn more about Oral Development?
